Nature’s Resurgence: A Poem for the New Year
Lunar New Year will grace us at the end of January, and this poem beautifully captures the essence of spring and renewal. Written by the esteemed Tang Dynasty poet Meng Haoran (孟浩然), it reflects his deep appreciation for nature. Below is the original Chinese text along with its English translation.
Spring Dawn (春晓)
By Meng Haoran (孟浩然)
春眠不觉晓,
处处闻啼鸟。
夜来风雨声,
花落知多少。
In spring, I sleep unaware of dawn,
Everywhere I hear the cries of birds.
Last night came the sound of wind and rain,
How many blossoms have fallen, I wonder.
