港家長憂本地學制壓力 提早安排子女赴英搶名牌中學學位 [ 香港01 28/3/2017 ] 撰文： 胡家欣 發佈日期： 2017-03-28 23:28 [本報訊]英國一直為香港學生熱門升學地點，去年有近4800名港生到英國私立中學及小學讀書。有升學機構顧問表示，留意到近幾年申請入讀英國寄宿學生有年輕化趨勢，「起跑線」由11歲提前至9歲，原因是英國知名的寄宿學校競爭激烈，為增加子女入讀機會，故先循英國小學(prep school)途徑升學，同時提早讓子女脫離本地考試主導的學制。 科慧學習中心創辦人 Jessica Ogilvy-Stuart表示，知名寄宿中學競爭激烈，令本地家長要提前安排送小朋友赴英國就讀寄宿小學。（胡家欣攝） 根據英國私立學校聯會數字顯示，去年有4766名港生就讀當地私立中學及小學讀書，當中有91名12歲以下港童，就讀初中第8級以下 (等同香港中二程度以下)，較2014年升約兩成。 升學顧問、科慧學習中心創辦人Jessica Ogilvy Stuart 表示，香港一般入讀英國寄宿中學年齡最輕為11歲，不過近5年有年輕化趨勢，以她創辦的中心為例子，今年有12位9歲學童將赴英國升讀小學，較去年多4人。 她解釋，十大知名寄宿中學如伊頓公學及溫切斯特公學等，近年競爭十分激烈，一所學校的海外學生額只佔約兩成，加上越來越多內地學生加入「戰團」，香港家長為保證學生入讀機會大增，故安排子女9歲時入讀當地小學第5級（等同香港小5程度）。
